Sport's Medicine Physician's treat patients who has sustained an injury or chronic condition that would like to return to physical activity or sports. The injury does not need to have occurred from participation in sports.

Kaitlyn recently moved to the Peterborough area and is excited to join the team of healthcare professionals at Trent Health in Motion! She completed her Clinical Masters of Science degree in Physiotherapy from McMaster University after earning her Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. Following graduation, she worked in a large hospital gaining experience in general medicine, geriatric, kidney, inpatient rehabilitation and post-operative units. She transitioned to working in a physiotherapy clinic in order to pursue her interest in pelvic health physiotherapy. She has taken postgraduate courses specializing in internal and external techniques for the assessment and treatment of pelvic health concerns and continuously strives to advance her education and experience in this area.

Kaitlyn believes in using a holistic, evidence based approach to assessment and treatment and strives to understand each client’s personal experience. She is passionate about creating a positive and safe environment for clients to express their concerns, work towards their goals, and improve their quality of life. She strives to empower clients through education inclusive of pain science, individualized exercise programs, manual therapy, techniques to target a sensitive nervous system as well as strategies to promote long-term self-management. She is excited about the opportunity to help clients in the Peterborough area increase their confidence and daily comfort by restoring basic human necessities related to pelvic health.

Outside of physiotherapy, Kaitlyn is passionate about an active, healthy lifestyle. Robin graduated in 2021 with honours with an Advanced Diploma in Massage Therapy from Sir Sanford Fleming College. Robin has always had a passion for the body, fitness and keeping active through sports. Robin is a very people-oriented person, who enjoys making connections with the people around her. Massage was the career she wanted to pursue where she could use her passion to educate clients on healthy ways to move their body, while also having the opportunity to help them do so.

Cora is a dietitian who enjoys nothing more than supporting clients to achieve their individual goals. She creates a judgment-free, safe space to explore how food can support health and wellbeing at every life stage. She also has an interest in how nutrition can support athletes and their unique goals. Cora takes a client-centred, food first approach, recognizing that every individual is an expert in their own care.

Cora graduated with her BSc in Food and Nutrition with an Honours Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2018 from Brescia University College, London, ON. She then went on to complete her Master in Public Health: Food and Nutrition from Memorial University, St. John’s, NL in 2020. She then worked as a diabetes education dietitian and a public health dietitian in Timmins, ON, before moving back to a farm near her hometown of Cobourg in the fall of 2023. Cora is a member of good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario and is a member of Dietitians of Canada.

Cora enjoys any and all continuing education opportunities that present themselves and is currently pursuing the Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Certification to better support the needs of her clients. Cora has a keen interest in maternal and infant health and has undertaken additional training, including Breastfeeding Level I and II to support individuals in making informed infant feeding decisions. Mike has worked in the health and wellness field for the past 20 years. Over this time, he has recognized the importance of developing a strong therapeutic alliance with his patients to enable them to achieve their best possible result. Mike uses an evidence-based approach to treatment that includes the use of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and education to assist patients with their goals.

Mike initially completed a Diploma in the Fitness & Lifestyle Management program at George Brown College in 1999. He followed this, completing his Bachelors of Science degree at Trent University in 2001. He spent 5 years working both as a trainer, as well as a rehab therapist for individuals with acquired brain injury. In 2006, Mike completed his Masters of Physical Therapy at D’Youville College, in Buffalo, NY. Mike has worked in Peterborough for the past 13 years in an orthopedic setting. In 2013, he completed his Advanced Diploma of Manual Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).

Throughout his career, Mike has remained committed to continuing education. He has completed course work in a number of areas including Acupuncture and Dry Needling, Management of Acute Concussion & Management of Post-Concussion Syndrome (R2P Concussion Management), New Trends in the Prevention of Running Injuries (The Running Clinic), and Lynn Watson’s “the shoulder course”. Madeleine is a Trent University graduate and former Trent U varsity rower. A background in dance and competitive sport sparked her interest in injury rehabilitation and prevention.

She later graduated from Sutherland-Chan School of Massage Therapy in Toronto where she developed a passion for perinatal care. After pursuing continuing education in the perinatal field and gaining clinical experience at Sunnybrook Hospital’s high risk obstetrics unit, Madeleine had the opportunity to work at Toronto’s leading pre and post natal wellness centre. She has since pursued continuing education in manual therapy for pelvic health, empathetic listening and nonviolent communication, trauma awareness as well as anti-racism and allyship.

In addition to supporting her clients through their pre and post natal journeys, Madeleine has experience providing massage therapy for spinal cord injury rehabilitation patients at Toronto Rehab’s Lyndhurst Centre, post surgical patients at Toronto General Hospital’s gynecologic oncology/urology inpatient unit and residents of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Lodge.

Ashley graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming College in 2018 with an advanced diploma in Massage Therapy and the honour of being named valedictorian of the School of Health & Wellness. She is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and is a member in good standing. She has experience working in multidisciplinary settings and with clients of different ages, backgrounds and activity levels.

Ashley brings a long history of athletic experience with her to Trent Health in Motion. Prior to becoming a registered massage therapist, Ashley trained and competed with the Canadian National Rowing Team for ten years. She was part of the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Olympic Rowing teams and won a silver medal in the women’s 8+ at the 2012 London Games. Ashley credits getting regular physiotherapy and massage therapy treatments with keeping her healthy, happy and mostly injury-free during her career on the National Team.

She began rowing in high school but really found her passion for sport at university. She graduated with degree in Art History from Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut though arguably she spent more time rowing than she did studying. After graduation, Ashley worked at a law firm in New York City before deciding to follow her dream to try rowing at the elite level for Team Canada.

Ashley uses her background and experience as an athlete to help her understand how the body works and how massage can help decrease pain, improve movement and reduce stress. Reanna is a compassionate physiotherapist who loves helping people achieve their goals, whether they’re related to health, wellness or performance. Reanna takes a client-centered approach to treatment, focusing on each person’s specific goals when developing a treatment plan. She takes the time to explain what she’s doing and what’s going on with each person’s body, as well as the different treatment options. Reanna’s treatment sessions often include education about strategies clients can implement to help decrease pain, facilitate recovery and prevent recurrence of injury, as well as exercise and manual therapy. When appropriate, she also offers acupuncture and therapeutic taping. Each session will be tailored to the individual client’s needs.

She graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Physical Education and Health from the University of Toronto in 2008. She then completed her Master’s of Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in 2010. After practicing for five years in orthopaedic physiotherapy, Reanna went on to complete her Master’s of Clinical Science in Manipulative Therapy at the University of Western Ontario in 2016. With this, Reanna achieved the designation as a Fellow of the Canadian Association of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT), which is the highest level of education in manual orthopaedic physiotherapy. She is registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.

Reanna loves learning and she is continually pursuing continuing education opportunities to learn new ways of helping her clients. Most recently, she’s developed an interest in pelvic and women’s health, and has been pursuing course work in this area. She has a passion for yoga, and became a certified yoga instructor in 2017. She enjoys integrating the teachings of yoga into her physiotherapy appointments where appropriate. She is trained in the Integrated Systems Model, which teaches the therapist to look at the whole person when assessing a complaint rather than just assessing the painful area. Michael enjoys working with clients to help them recover fully, so they can achieve their health and fitness goals. Musculoskeletal problems, especially those resulting from sports related injuries, are his primary area of interest. Michael uses manual therapy techniques, individualized strengthening and stretching exercises, and movement retraining to help clients rehabilitate from injury and prevent recurrence. He has worked with athletes of all levels, participating in many different sports, from professional basketball teams and the Canadian Men’s National Cricket team, to amateur and recreational athletes of all ages in sports such as soccer, football, hockey and golf.

Michael has continued to build on his skills and knowledge through a variety of continuing education courses. Most notably he completed the Masters in Clinical Science program at the University of Western Ontario and attained his advanced manual therapy (FCAMPT) designation. He also completed the Discover Physio series, where he learned the Integrated Systems Model (ISM). ISM is an approach to assessment and treatment that examines the whole person in order to address the underlying causes behind their meaningful complaint, as opposed to just treating the painful area.

Dr. Barrieau graduated from the University of Waterloo with an honours bachelor science degree in kinesiology. He later graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto while earning additional accreditations in Functional Integrated Acupuncture.

Dr. Barrieau has furthered his learning through several courses such as, Spinemobility’s Boot Camp Program for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis, The Nature of Pain- University of Alberta’s Faculty of Graduate Studies, Concussion: prevention, detection and management - Laval University, Athletic Movement Assessment- Upper Extremity, Dermal Traction Method and Mental Health First Aid. Dr. Barrieau enjoys working with people with a variety of conditions, he has a special interest in concussion management, jaw pain and lumbar spinal stenosis.
